FC turn it around with win over league leaders Slough
AYLESBURY FC defied the critics and the form books with a battling 2-0 home victory over league-leaders Slough Town.
The result was even more impressive as FC played the final half hour with 10 men after Jack Seaton was sent off for a last man tackle.
The excellent Ty Marsh had already seen a low shot almost squirm under the keeper when on 37 minutes his goal opened the scoring. He ran from just inside the Slough half and dashed inside from the right before hitting a low shot past the keeper.
On 64 minutes Seaton saw red when he was judged to have fouled the sprinting Slough forward.
This was the start of a fierce rearguard action by FC as the defence and keeper stood firm.
On 90 minutes FC’s hearts were in their mouths when a Slough strike blasted off both bar and post before nestling comfortably in the arms of Rhys Marshall. As Slough Town fans rubbed their eyes in disbelief, Ty Marsh burst into the Slough half and after leaving the keeper for dead, placed his shot which took a slight deflection for a 2-0 scoreline. It was a classic sucker punch counter attack to finish what had been an entertaining 90 minutes.
