Ducks go top of the league after storming back from 4-1 down to win 10-goal thriller 6-4

Aylesbury United striker Stacey Field scored an eight-minute hat-trick

Aylesbury United striker Stacey Field scored an eight-minute hat-trick

Aylesbury arrived at Hadley knowing that, with league leaders Dunstable Town not playing, a third successive win would take them to the Premier Division summit, but, trailing 4-1 early in the second half looked to be leaving Potters Bar disappointed.

What followed was a sensational comeback to cap a crazy afternoon as Stacey Field’s eight-minute hat-trick helped United overhaul their deficit and go on to win 6-4 and complete their mission.

Paul Edgeworth, Ben Butler and Joey Acheampong got the other goals as Tony Joyce’s men recorded one of the most memorable results in the club’s recent history.
