Ducks begin new year with a hammering

Aylesbury United fall to heavy defeat

Aylesbury United fall to heavy defeat

Aylesbury United got 2011 off to the worst possible start with a 5-1 loss to Chalfont St. Peter.

Manager Tony Joyce had stated his worry before the match about their lack of training and he was right as they looked off the pace from the off.

Chalfont took the lead after just 13 minutes when an in-swinging free kick was nodded past Jack Sillitoe in United’s goal.

Charlie Strutton then netted before half time and Chalfont went on to add three more in the second 45 minutes.

The Ducks did get a consolation in stoppage time when Lea Coulter fired home, but it was never going to affect the outcome.
