Aylesbury United U16s Girls rounded off a stunning season in style when they beat rivals Moretonville Eagles 4-1 to clinch the league title and complete the double.

Aylesbury’s only defeat this season came in the reverse fixture between these two sides and they were keen to gain revenge, especially as victory would seal the title to go with their League Cup triumph the previous week.

The Ducks were on the front foot from kick-off and instantly earned their reward when Katy found Alex, who steered a precise shot across the goalkeeper.

United continued to attack at will and on 22 minutes, a superb crossfield ball from Aaliyah found Alex unmarked and for the second time she made no mistake as her 27th goal of the season made it 2-0 at half-time.

The second half saw subs Paige, Erin and Emma enter the fray as the Ducks put further pressure on Moretonville before Kitkat added a third with her 47th goal of an incredible season.

Three minutes later and the result was put beyond doubt as Erin found an opportune time to score her first goal for the team by blasting into the top corner.

Though the Eagles pulled one back, Aylesbury saw out victory. The girls will now play in the U18s Thames Valley Counties League.
