F1 star Webber inspires karter Ed to aim for the very top

KARTING champ Ed Brand was given a big boost ahead of his impending title defence when he picked the brains of F1 racer Mark Webber last week.
The pair met at the Get Race Fit event hosted by the Aston Clinton-based Red Bull star. Ed’s race skills were tested at the iZone Driver Performance Centre on a state-of-the-art race simulator. And later the Cottesloe School pupil got the chance to ask the Aussie about his own life in racing.
He said: “It was a fantastic day. Mark is a good role model for an aspiring professional driver like me. He’s very down to earth and approachable. He’s one of the world’s best drivers but doesn’t live like a monk.
“I came away from the event feeling really inspired.”
