Coronation for league and cup kings Cublington

Cublington crowned an excellent season for the club with victory over local rivals Long Marston in the Twenty20 Coronation Cup Final.

A positive opening between Sam Carter (26) and Bill Burton (17) saw Cubs make 47 from the first eight overs. Nerves were rattled as Marston’s McLennan removed them before doing the same to Jamie Leggett and Nick Talbot in the space of three balls, turning 47-0 into 57-4 at halfway. The brilliant Sam George (75) was assisted by Greg Jenkins (25 not out) in repairing the innings which yielded a total of 159-6 overall. Cubs’ Carter was chief destroyer with4-6 off two overs to skittle Long Marston out for 93 in a fitting end to the season.
