Aylesbury fitness guru helping new mums Thrive
Babyfit classes at Watermead
New mums are being given a sporting chance after an Aylesbury Vale fitness guru launched classes where the babies can go along too.
Babyfit sessions are the brainchild of Tara Eastmead, a self-confessed fitness fanatic who founded her own business, Thrive Personal Training, after a 15-year career in marketing.
Marathon veteran Tara set up the business in 2010 and after recently becoming a mum herself, the entrepreneurial 37 year old is on a mission to do her bit to help keep new mothers fit without the hassle or added expense of arranging a babysitter.
“Having had a baby myself recently I understand the pressures of being a new mum and the specific areas of our body we’re concerned about,” she said.
“The classes focus very much on toning these areas, as well as burning fat. I aim to make the sessions as relaxed as possible, so the mums can feel free to break when they like if they need to see to their baby.

“There is a great community feel, we’re all in the same boat, so can de-stress as well as burning calories at the same time.”
The key to Tara’s sessions, which take place on the picturesque Watermead in Aylesbury and at the village’s Reflexions Gym during the winter months, is a relaxed attitude.
“There’s no need to book, you can just turn up, so if it’s a bad morning, no need to cancel,” Tara said.
“Also it’s not just babies as toddlers are also very welcome. Mums of all fitness levels can come along and members are guided to workout to a level that suits their own individual fitness ability.
“We go outside or inside depending on weather and the atmosphere is very relaxed.”
Classes, which take place at 11am on Wednesdays, are already proving popular and Tara hopes to add more sessions in the spring.
