Aylesbury-born Premiership star, Emmerson Boyce, had an afternoon to forget as he was part of a Wigan defence which conceeded nine goals away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Boyce and his team-mates endured an awful second-half at White Hart Lane, conceeding eight goals in 45 minutes.

England striker Jermain Defoe scored five, and Aaron Lennon, Niko Kranjcar and David Bentley also found the back of the net in the 9-1 thrashing.

Peter Crouch had put Spurs 1-0 up before the break.

Wigan are the first team in the top flight to let in nine goals since Manchester United thumped Ipswich 9-0 in 1995.

Boyce, who attended Quarrendon School, has made 11 appearances for Wigan so far this season, scoring twice.
