A YOUTH side who played together in the '90s raised £1700 in memory of a former team-mate last weekend.
Risborough Rangers 'Class of '98' won the Wycombe Star Division Two title ten years ago as Under-16s - with goalkeeper Jason Travers in their line-up.
Last December, Jason - who joined Rangers aged 11 - died from testicular cancer at the age of 25 and former manager Andy Woodward took the reins of his old side on Sunday for a tribute match in memory of his former goalkeeper.
The memorial game was watched by around 150 spectators who saw Rangers' old boys take on a 'World XI' consisting of friends and family - including Jason's older brother Anthony.
Prior to the game, the assembled players and spectators observed a minute's silence before laying Jason's favourite gloves and jersey on the centre-spot.
Hosted at Rangers 'Windsors' ground, an auction - including tickets for the London Eye and an 'Arsenal Experience' - was held after the game and raised over £1000. Programme sales and entrance fees boosted this total to £1700.
All proceeds from the tribute went to the 'Jason Travers Tribute Fund', which forms part of the Everyman Campaign cancer charity.
Afterwards, former manager Andy said: "It was a fantastic day. I was really pleased with the turnout and the support we received. We also raised an amazing amount of money."
