AYLESBURY Rugby Club's annual 'Junior 10s' festival attracted over 500 young players to Ostler's Field last Sunday.
The tournament spanned four age groups from Under-13 to Under-16 and squads played group stages to then compete in Plate and Cup semis and finals - which really tested players' fitness and skills.

Bucks Society of referees officiated superbly throughout the day and the festival was sponsored by Mars Refuel – which was in high demand after day's hard-fought rugby.

Ay's Under-13s got the host club among the medals to win the Plate competition in their age group, with Dunstable winning the Under-13's category overall.

The Ducks' Under-14s were in red-hot form as they beat a tough Bedford side to win their cup competition - Bletchley winning the Under-14 Plate. Bletchley's Under-15s emulated their juniors to win their Plate competition, while Hertford won the Under-15 cup proper.

In the senior event, Milton Keynes Under-16s won the Plate competition, while Henley picked up the overall title.

Afterwards, Aylesbury's club chairman Dean Gray said: "It was a superb day's rugby with great skill, talent and effort on show. We very much enjoyed hosting so many clubs and their supporters which produced a really great crowd on the day."
