Britannia A dominant in football mundial
PREMIERSHIP leaders Britannia A continued their fantastic form with an emphatic 5-0 win over Athletico Scorchio, with Alex Woodfine netting four of their goals, and Nick Gurney completing the victory.
Britannia have now won all 11 games they have played so far this season in the league, and are seven points ahead of nearest rivals MA Simmonds, who managed a rather more narrow victory against Del Monte, 2-0.
James Oxley and and James Bowyer scored the goals.
Prebendal Boyz and Boca Redgrove played out a thrilling 6-6 draw to keep them in the hunt for a top half finish.
Paul Alleyne scored a hatrick for Boca, with Adam Beckett (2) and Toby Middleton (1) also scoring, whilst braces from Daniel Green, Angelo Mendicino and Tom Waite secured the draw for the Boyz.
In stark contrast, Aylesbury Ajax and PCR played out a dull 0-0 draw. The result, however, was enough to lift PCR off the bottom of the table on goal difference, after Quarrendon suffered a thumping 3-8 reverse to third placed Mando Brando.
Jamie Lewis hit four, whilst Aaron Usmani (2), Leon Salter (1) and Michael Mclellan (1) were also on target for Mando Brando.
Craig Scott, Sam Robinson and Paul Carr bagged the consolation goals for Quarrendon.
In the championship Browns Removals put in the performance of the week, putting 10 goals past CSG Samba without reply.
Steve Mynott was the star with four goals, whilst Daniel Deane and Frankie Clay each scored braces, and Anthony Bone and John Watson completed the rout.
League leaders Second Hand City also enjoyed an easy 6-0 win over Tiempo.
Nick Lewis Smith and Tony Cives each put two in, and Phillipo Festa and Jez Robinson were also on the scoresheet.
Unthamed FC kept up their challenge for the title however, securing a tense 3-4 victory against Aylesbury Rangers, and keeping the gap between first and second to four points.
Aaron Pronger, Andrew Claydon and Vinnie Lagaille were all on target for Unthamed, whilst Nick O'Leary, Michael Bowen and Rob Slingerland ensured Rangers put up a terrific fight, despite being 11 points behind their opponents in the league.
Last-placed Zim Allstars had a terrific confidence-boosting win over Vizona, thrashing them 7-1.
Simon Tatekaite hit four, whilst Kudzi Sangoya (2) and Ali Manjengwa (1) also put goals past the Vizona keeper.
Ben Rutland was their only scorer.
Zim may have been expecting to move up the table as a result of their win, but second-to-last Jolly Rogers' surprise 3-2 victory over Britannia B ensured they remain one point above them at the foot of the table.
Steve Bryant, DJ Severin and John Boyd ensured the win.
