AYLESBURY Vale football club enjoyed the greatest night in their history yesterday in the FA Cup.
They won away to higher-tiered Burnham 2-1 in the FA Cup preliminary round, reaching the first qualifying round of the prestigious competition for the very first time.

Vale came from a goal behind to score twice in the second period, with goals from Neil Roberts (penalty) and then super sub Martyn Kinsey finding the winner.

They had very nearly beaten Burnham at the first opportunity last week, but conceded a late goal deep into injury time having been 1-0 up.

Their win yesterday earns them £1500 in prize money and a home tie against Downton F.C, of the Wessex league, Saturday September 13.
