Aylesbury United are in talks with ADL champions Hale Leys about combining forces in a bid to recruit local footballing talent.
Although negotiations are at an early stage, it is thought Hale Leys could become an official feeder club to the Ducks and possibly act as a reserve side too.
Hale Leys United have enjoyed fantastic recent success, winning the Aylesbury and District League Division One and Premier titles back-to-back. They now have aspirations to join the South Midlands League.
Two of their star players, brothers Jordan and Joseph Oxley, made their Ducks debuts late last month and have already made an impact, with younger sibling Joseph scoring from a header in United's 2-1 FA Trophy defeat to Beaconsfield SYCOB at the weekend.
The development will be a boost to Aylesbury United caretaker boss Byron Walton, who was left scrambling for players at the start of the season after almost the entire squad departed along with former boss Mark Eaton to Aylesbury FC.
Walton has been hamstrung by an extremely limited playing budget and his small squad have struggled so far this season, winning only two matches in all competitions and sitting bottom of the Southern League Division One Midlands.
Ken Turnbull, vice-chairman of the Ducks, who are currently forced to play home games at Leighton, said: "We hope we can tie things up and at least have a team that plays in the town, that is one of the nice things about it.
"It gives us an opportunity to bring players through and it is going to be a good link for us. We are very keen on trying to progress it through so it is good news- but we could just do with a win as well!"
Aylesbury United will look to get their first points of the league campaign when they travel to midtable Stourport Swifts on Saturday.
