Aylesbury Cemetery was a new highlight for this year's Heritage Day, held on Saturday, and it proved a popular attraction.
The day, organised by the Aylesbury Society and Aylesbury Town Council, was an opportunity for people to explore the historic and picturesque locations in the town, some of which are usually closed to the members of the public.
Attractions for this year were The Kings Head in Market Square, The Masonic Hall in Ripon Street, Friends Meeting Place in Rickfords Hill, and a guided walk of Aylesbury old town.
But it was the cemetery in Tring Road, made available after its transfer from the district council to the town council, which pulled in some of biggest numbers of visitors.
Roger King, honorary secretary of the Aylesbury Society, said: "We had around 100 people coming through and having a look around the cemetery, and 450 overall."
