VANDALS SPOIL GRAFFITI WALL ART

(TUESDAY, AUGUST 8) A VANDALISED youth shelter in Wendover that was repainted over a period of five months by a group of young people has had graffiti sprayed on it just days after the work was completed.

The project was funded through a 1,000 grant from Wendover Parish Council and the group of boys worked with a professional street artist to design a mural that reflected the youth in Wendover.

One of the main aims of the youth project was to teach teenagers about the impact of vandalism on the community.

But just days after the project was completed at the start of the month, the mural has had paint sprayed on top of it and much of the rest of the shelter has been heavily 'tagged' by unknown graffiti artists.

Sam Wharton, 15, who helped paint the shelter said: "It is quite annoying, as the graffiti is not as good and has spoilt what we did."
