Three dead in Ludgershall crash

Three people were killed in a car crash in Ludgershall on Sunday evening.

The crash happened around 6.40pm on the A41 Bicester Road at the turning for Ludgershall and Brill near Aylesbury.

A silver Toyota Corolla, travelling in the direction of Bicester, and a red Hyundai Coupe, travelling in the opposite direction, collided.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 28-year-old man from Chipping Norton, and the driver and front-seat passenger of the Toyota, a 79-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman respectively, both from Brackley, were all declared dead at the scene.

A woman passenger of the Hyundai was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries, and two children in the same vehicle, a boy and a girl, were taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed until just before 11.30pm.

Three ambulances and one air ambulance attended the scene, along with two fire engines and a number of police officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
