An 18-year-old was rushed to hospital last night after falling from a railway bridge.

British Transport police officers were called to the bridge on Stoke Road, Aylesbury, shortly after 7.15pm last night following reports that a man had fallen onto the railway line.

Ambulance crews and firefighters removed the teenager from the railway embankment before rushing him to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man from Wheatley was safely removed from the railway embankment and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

Eyewitnesses report seeing a man pacing at the traffic lights nearby before the incident.
