Stoke Mandeville Stadium features in an episode of a popular antiques programme being aired today (Wednesday).

Antiques Road Trip, which is being broadcast on BBC One at 4.30pm sees antiques experts Philip Serrell and Natasha Raskin competing against each other to buy antiques and collectables which are then sold at auction.

In this episode, the pair visit locations in Herts, Bucks and Oxon, including the stadium before heading to West London for an auction.

During the show, Mr Serrell meets Martin McElhatton, chief executive of WheelPower, a disabled sports charity based at the stadium.

Mr Serrell said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Stoke Mandeville Stadium.

“Martin’s attitude and work that he has done for the movement is very humbling and it was a pleasure to come to the stadium and meet him.”

The episode will also be available via the BBC iPlayer for the next month.
