Record number of voters say authorities got it wrong over housing growth

THE authorities have got the decision on the direction of Aylesbury's housing growth wrong and should have chosen the south instead of the east.

That's the verdict of our latest online poll which saw record numbers of users voting on our popular website.

Following on from articles appearing in The Bucks Herald about the council choosing the east of Aylesbury for housing growth, we asked visitors to our site if they agreed with the decision.

A resounding majority of the 980 people voting said 'No, it should have been the south' with 58 per cent (496 votes) choosing that option. The second highest vote said the decision was the correct one with 29 per cent (256 people) choosing 'Yes'.

Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, just nine per cent (89 votes) of voters agreed that 'We shouldn't be building new homes anywhere in Aylesbury' while four per cent (46 votes) of people taking part said they simply 'Didn't care'.
