The popular fancy dress parade led by Chiltern Hills Brass Band will kick off this year’s annual Princes Risborough Town Festival on Saturday.
A week of events begins with this popular parade that winds through the High Street and Market Square to Wades Park.
After the judging and prize giving there will be an afternoon of children’s entertainment with The All Stars, five a side football, dog agility, ferret racing and the ever popular tug of war.
With kids’ games, a toddler music group and play bus there is something for everyone. A fully licensed bar and hot food will be available throughout the afternoon.
In the evening the mood gets all grown up, with a Las Vegas themed casino at the community centre from 7.30pm with blackjack and roulette. Musical entertainment will be provided by a Frank Sinatra tribute act and there will be a licenced bar and hot food. Tickets £10.
Throughout the festival week many clubs, societies and busineses will host an array of open evenings, exhibitions, walks, concerts and factory tours.
Saturday July 11 will see the culmination of the festival with the annual street fair from 1pm. Stalls will line the High Street supported by live music from the Market Square and Duke Street. Acts include Rattlesnakes, Life without Roger, MFU, the Morris dancers and children from a local school.
