Power cut update: 500 people in Bucks still without power

ENERGY giant EDF has released a further statement confirming that 500 people in Bucks are still without power.

The blackout, which has affected areas such as Princes Risborough, Wingrave, Hardwick and Cublington, hit thousands of homes at between 9pm- 10pm last night (Tuesday).

We have been receving reports that the situation has been fixed in Risborough and Wingrave, but EDF admits many are still without power.

They said in a statement:

'EDF Energy Networks has restored power to several thousand customers in parts of the East of England after bad weather affected some high voltage cables last night.

'Power was restored to the first customers soon after supplies went off at around 7.30pm yesterday.

'The main areas still affected are largely in Hertfordshire, where about 2800 customers are without power, including faults in St Albans and Hatfield.

'There are also about 500 customers affected in Buckinghamshire and 1,000 in Essex.

'We are confident of restoring supplies to the vast majority - and hopefully all - customers by the end of today.

'We would like to apologise to all those affected for the inconvenience caused.'
