A Special Constable has been dismissed from by Thames Valley Police for gross misconduct after hearing.
SC Oliver O’Brien was found to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour set out in the Schedule to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012.
His conduct was found to have amounted to gross misconduct in relation to discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity following an incident while SC O’Brien was attending a course at the Probationer Development Unit at Sulhamstead Training College between January 19 and January 23 this year.
SC O’Brien, who was based at Amersham Police Station, did not attend the hearing, which was held before the Chief Constable Francis Habgood.
Det Ch Supt Tim De Meyer, head of the force’s Professional Standards Department, said he hopes the sacking sends out a clear message.
“We expect police officers to have high standards of behaviour both in their professional and personal lives and this is underpinned by the Code of Ethics.
“SC O’Brien’s behaviour fell short of the standards Thames Valley Police expects of those who serve the Force.
“I hope that his dismissal sends out a strong message to the public that we will investigate all reports of misconduct and deal robustly and swiftly with anyone who is found to have breached the standards expected.”
