Planning officers told to renegiotate over controversial shutters
DISTRICT planning officers have been told to renegotiate with Aylesbury Art and Crafts over the design of their security shutters.
Joint owners Jayesh Patel and Sam Kalyan are seeking retrospective permission to keep the external roller shutters on the shop front, which they say are essential to prevent vandalism.
Alterations were also proposed to amend the appearance of the recessed fascia sign to the front, so that it projects further out over the shutters.
Council officers advised the Development Control Committee, which met this afternoon, to refuse the Kingsbury shop's planning application.
However, councillors ordered their planning officers to renegotiate with the independent Kingsbury shop.
Mr Kalyan said he was disappointed they were not approved, adding there was not much room for negotiation.
Do you think permission should have been granted for the shutters?
