The weekend of free music in Vale Park continued on Sunday evening with Proms in the Park.

The Aylesbury Concert Band took to the stage with soloists Alison Langer and Lawrence Thackeray to perform a mix of contemporary and traditional orchestral pieces that included Schindlers List and Rule Britannia.

Residents brought picnics and deck chairs to settle in for the evening and heavy rain did nothing to prevent the audience responding with enthusiastic flag waving, and there was even a spontaneous spot of community Irish dancing when the band performed Riverdance.

Earlier in the day Aylesbury Church Network hosted an open air church service with a large community choir drawn from across the town.

Then from noon until 4pm families enjoyed a barbecue, inflatables, games and crafts.
