Fashion brand Next is moving from Hale Leys to Friars Square to bring a ‘greater range’ of products to the town.

The 21,600 sq ft anchor store will open in the spring after Next signed a 10-year lease and agreed to a relocation.

It will no longer trade in Hale Leys and will move to Friars Square, adjacent to River Island and New Look.

The addition of Next to Friars Square follows the recent lettings of Rush Fitness, Coffee Republic, The Entertainer and Warren James.

Andy Margieson, Friars Square centre Manager, is ‘delighted’ to welcome Next to the shopping centre.

He said: “With their current lease coming to an end it would have been a great shame for the town to lose such a strong high street brand.

The new store will have a greater range of products, increasing the offering available to shoppers and will be a welcome addition to the scheme.”

Rockspring’s assistant director, Shaun Hose, said: “This new letting at Friars Square reflects Next’s confidence in both the existing tenant line up and the asset management strategy that Rockspring has put in place for the shopping centre, following our recent purchase.”
