A new defibrillator has been installed at Haddenham and Thame Parkway Railway Station.

Thame and District Lions Club in conjunction with Heartbeat Haddenham have installed the defibrillator at the station which will be available at any time in case of an emergency.

It was unveiled jointly by Cllr Nichola Dixon, the mayor of Thame, and Cllr Margaret Aston, the chairman of Haddenham Parish Council.

Tony Warris from Heartbeat Haddenham, a group set-up to install and promote defibrillators in the village, thanked the Lions Club for funding the defibrillator and the cabinet for housing it in.

Chad Collins, head of stations at Chiltern Railways said: “Every week thousands of customers pass through the station so we are really pleased that Thame and Haddenham Parkway has been chosen as a location for a permanent defibrillator.”

Thame and District Lions Club, a group set up to improve life in the town, raised funds for the defibrillator through various events including raffling Easter eggs in pubs and a mile of coins event.
