A woman had to be cut out of her car following an accident outside Grendon Underwood prison this morning.

Police and firefighters were called at 8am after a collision between a silver Vauxhall Astra and a white Ford Focus on Edgcott Road in Grendon Underwood.

Firefighters had to cut the woman, who suffered what are described ‘non-life threatening injuries’, from the Ford Focus before she was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Vauxhall suffered minor facial injuries and was also taken to hospital as a precuation. The road has since re-opened.
