Heather Jan Brunt asks people in Aylesbury town centre whether they plan to use a rail link between Aylesbury and Milton Keynes which is due to open in 2019.

Lindsey Smith, Aylesbury:

“I would certainly try to but the only problem is, the station in Milton Keynes is not close to the shopping centre. We normally go by car. We used to live in Maidenhead and it has great rail links.”

Roger Santos, Aylesbury:

“I think so if I needed to get to Milton Keynes, but I don’t often leave Aylesbury so I haven’t been there. I’ve been to Oxford and Bristol. If there was a rail link I might be more likely to go.”

Andrea Hopwood, Aylesbury:

“Possibly I would. I don’t go to Milton Keynes, I tend to get all I want from Aylesbury. Anything I want, I find in the shops around here. If it was a matter of a day out I might go for a change.”

Stephen Cox, Haddenham:

“As a shop keeper in Aylesbury I wouldn’t be in favour of it from a purely selfish point of view because it would force more people out of the town, but for commuters it might be a good idea.”

Roger Goodchild, Bishopstone:

“Probably, because shoppers could get to Milton Keynes a lot quicker than using Oxford, Reading or Watford. My sister lives the other side of Milton Keynes, but I would still drive there.”
