A pensioner has died from her injuries following a ‘hit and run’ collision in Bicester Road.

The collision involving a Peugeot 106 and a BMW happened on Thursday evening at the roundabout turn-off for Rabans Lane.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 10pm, and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the women from the Peugeot.

The 65-year-old driver died last night and her passenger, aged 34, is being treated for serious hip injuries at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The male driver of the BMW was arrested later that night at an address in Aylesbury.

He was released on bail pending further enquiries on suspicion of failing to stop after a road accident.

Investigating officer PC Sian Pringle, from Thames Valley Police’s Road Death Investigation Unit, said: “This collision happened on one of the main roads through Aylesbury and I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the BMW or Peugeot beforehand.”

If you saw the collision or the vehicle prior to the collision police contact PC Pringle via the Thames Valley Police 24-hour enquiry centre on 101.
