Broughton Lane is closed today (Tuesday) due to bad weather, just days after the bridge re-opened following a hit and run crash.
The collision caused the bricks on the bridge to move, such was the force of the impact, and the Canal River Trust had to spend over £30,000 on the repairs.
The road is now shut again due to flooding by the Bedgrove junction caused by the Westend Ditch bursting its banks after heavy overnight rain.
The flooding extends as far as the new traffic lights on Tring Road.
The closure comes just a day after the road was partially blocked after a car transporter got stuck.
A TfB statement said: “A TfB gulley emptying crew were on site at Broughton Lane, Aylesbury from 11.30am on Tuesday following a call-out, to investigate the cause of surface floodwater.
“Storm damage debris had blocked Westend Ditch, which goes under Broughton Lane, and excess water from neighbouring fields was unable to drain away.
“The crew have unblocked Westend Ditch and water is now subsiding.
“They will stay on site until floodwater is clear.
“Flood warning signs will remain there for the time being.”
