Health and Safety Executive inspectors have been to the site of a scrapyard accident which left a man with severe leg injuries.

The man, in his 40s, was airlifted to hospital yesterday after the accident involving a forklift truck at the ASM recycling plant in Griffin Lane, Aylesbury.

An air ambulance pilot landed the helicopter in the middle of the road, so that medics could treat the injured worker.

The road was closed off by police during the incident, and a large crowd onlookers formed.

The Health and Safety Executive confirmed today that they are investigating investigate the incident, and inspectors have been onsite today to gather information.

The Bucks Herald also visited the site today, but staff did not wish to comment.
