Padbury-based charity Ali’s Dream is looking for teams to enter its Clay Pigeon Shoot on Sunday, April 27.

The annual shoot is a major fundraiser for Ali’s Dream, set up to raise funds for research into childhood brain tumours, after the death of Alison Phelan in 2001, at the age of seven.

The charity is looking for local businesses to sponsor each of the seven traps, at £300 per trap.

Taking place at Padbury Hill Farm, Padbury, the event is open to both expert and novice teams, and there are plenty of instructors for those who have never shot before.

Guns will be available for teams to borrow, if necessary.

The day begins with hot sausages in rolls, teas and coffees from 9am during registration. Instruction takes place promptly at 9.30am, and anyone missing this will be unable to shoot.

The day comprises a 50-bird shoot over seven stands. Each person will have a total of 50 shots, with a maximum potential score of 50 per person or 200 per team.

Shields will be presented to the winning expert and novice teams. Trophies will be presented to the members of winning and runner-up teams.

Lunch will be served at close of play, between 12.30pm and 2pm.

There is still just time to register a team, at a cost of £60 per person, by calling Sue or Sharon on 01296 730230 immediately.

Spectators are welcome to attend at a cost of £10 (£5 for children under 12).
