A council has allayed fears that food waste is being mixed with recycling.
The concerns arose after people spotted binmen using green refuse bins for the waste.
An anonymous resident, who lives at Elm Farm, said they had seen this occur outside their own property and when walking through Stoke Mandeville.
They said: “We have been introduced to this new system but the council are allowed to flaunt the rules.”
However, an Aylesbury Vale District Council spokesman played down the incident, saying the bins were merely being used for transferring the waste and recycling before both were put in separate pods on the truck.
They said: “Most the trucks have two bins on them. They transfer food bins into a large green wheelie bin. It’s being used as a transfer bin.”
The latest concern comes after the council introduced a new system of recycling and waste collection this month, which created problems after many residents did not receive their bins in time.
Further problems were caused after residents discovered the bins had electronic chips.
However, the council later said this had been done to reward those who recycled.
