More than 600 women, and for the first time 25 men, looked pretty in pink as they took part in the Florence Nightingale Hospice’s fifth Gemstone Midnight Walk.
Early indications show that over £45,000 was raised in the early hours of Sunday morning with more money expected to come in.
The hospice’s PR and marketing manager Sam Heggie said: “We are really pleased with how this year’s event went.
“It is the first time we have had rain during the walk but it did not dampen anyone’s spirits.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the marshalls.
“We had 75 of them on the route and they did a sterling job in unpleasant conditions.”
