An elderly man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Bedgrove, Aylesbury, this morning.

At about 10.40am officers attended Camborne Avenue after a blue Vauxhall Corsa collided with the 70 year old on a zebra crossing.

The car stopped at the scene.

The pensioner was taken by ambulance to Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury with life-threatening injuries.

He has since been transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

PC Mike Ellyard, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police. We are also appealing to speak to anyone who saw the blue Vauxhall Corsa driving prior to the collision.

“This happened in a busy street and there would have been people around who saw what happened.”
