An elderly man has died after his car crashed into a paramedic’s rapid response vehicle on Sunday evening.
The 85-year-old man was driving a silver Mercedes when it was involved in the collision with a marked response car on the Aylesbury-bound carriageway of the A41 in Waddesdon as it was travelling to an emergency call under blue lights just after 6.30pm.
The man was rushed to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital Hospital with serious injuries but died on Wednesday, police said today (Friday).
The driver of the response car was treated at the scene on the junction of Blackgrove Road for minor injuries.
Sgt Dominic Mahon of the joint operations unit for roads policing said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the events leading up to the collision to contact police.”
