The Haddenham branch of the Women’s Institute celebrated its 90th birthday last month, by hosting a tea party at Haddenham Youth Centre.
More than 50 members of the Buckinghamshire Federation of Women’s Institutes attended the event,
Guests sat down to tea and enjoyed a specially decorated cake before a talk on the history of the institute, given by Joyce Davis, the secretary of the Haddenham branch.
Mrs Davis was extremely happy with how the event turned out. She said: “The day was a great success, and was enjoyed by everyone.”
Mrs Davis – stood on the far left of the photograph – is wearing a hat, in honour of a WI tradition: that women always used to wear hats to institute events.
