A pair of mums who met at university have opened a clothes shop for under eights and are hoping to bring the best brands to Bucks.
The Dandy Kid, which is hosting a launch party in Wendover on Saturday, will sell clothes for boys and girls from British independent designers, as well as from France, Scandinavia and the USA.
Sarah Beattie and Becks Clarke, both 35, met at Southampton university 10 years ago and will now run the shop in the Barn Courtyard in Wendover High Street.
Mrs Beattie, who is expecting her second child and will commute from Bath before moving to the area at the end of the year, said: “When dressing our little ones, we are quite similar in our style.
“We both enjoy spending time looking for clothes that are a little bit different.
“We’ve been speaking about it for a while but it now fits in with our children and our lives.”
Mrs Clarke, who lives in Wendover with her five month old and eight year old, said: “We’ve tried to create a collection that we love but also provide all kinds of kids’ bits and pieces.
“We hope people like what they see as much as we do”.
The launch party, which will include fairground rides and face-painting, is raising money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and starts at 10.30am on Saturday.
The Dandy Kid will open its doors to customers at 10am on the same day and then from Tuesdays to Saturdays (10am-5pm) and on Sundays (11am-4pm).
