Mum of three Sarah Cowling has always been a keen follower of fashion.
Now the 48-year-old is about to celebrate her first year since the launch of her at home boutique.
Mrs Cowling decided to take the fashion plunge after getting the thumbs up from her three young children, last November
She converted an outhouse at the family home at the Old Bakery in Nup End Lane, Wingrave, and the business was born.
The Sarah Jane Boutique sells pre-owned designer clothes and accessories on behalf of other people.
She said: “I work on a 50-50 commission basis whereby I sell the clothes on behalf of the customers. I see it as a form of recycling.”
Sarah moved to the village five years ago and said running a the boutique was something she had dreamed about.
She said: “I am glad I finally made the decision to go for it.
“I have three daughters, aged eight, 11 and 15 and they are all very into it. They look up to me which is a very nice feeling.”
Mrs Cowling added that although a lot of at home businesses focused on their online presence, she enjoyed the personal aspect.
“I think it is great that people can try the items on, as it gives us a real personal touch,” she said.
The boutique is open on Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons.
There are also monthly open days with the next one on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.
