A man has been arrested after a woman’s house was set alight on Saturday night, leaving her trapped in her bedroom.
Police say the victim knew her attacker and that fire ‘accelerators’ were found at the scene.
A 52-year-old man from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of arson to endanger life.
The fire at the Towersey Way home in Aylesbury took place at around 10pm, first noticed by the woman when she smelt smoke from downstairs.
She then called the fire service, which kept her on the phone and talked her through smoke-proofing her room and remaining calm, until firefighters arrived and rescued her.
The man has now been bailed until Wednesday.
