Holy nostalgia Robin! 1960s '¨Batmobile coming to town

Kapow! Thwack! The actual Batmobile is coming to the Friars Square shopping centre!

The original 1966 Batmobile, which is a roadworthy replica of the one used in the iconic series is coming to town as part of the shopping centre’s superhero fun day on Wednesday, August 24.

The caped crusader himself will also be there to fight crime, and of course pose for selfies with fans.

The stylish car with red trim and fins will be on display between 11am and 3pm.

It is based on a Lincoln Continental and has made appearances throughout Europe and Asia over the past 20 years, often with original Batman actor Adam West.

And it’s not just Batman and his lovely car that are descending.

Organisers have been on the Batphone and got hold of Spiderman, Optimus Prime and Iron Man, who will also do walkabouts throughout the day.

A free craft workshop, in which superheroes of the future can design their own masks, and a superhero trail will also be on offer for shoppers.
