Aylesbury Uppter High Street will be pedestrianised from next week, it has been announced.
The move, which will see bollards installed to prevent traffic driving through in the day, has been long in the pipeline and Councillor Brian Roberts, who has spearheaded the scheme, said he was delighted it is moving ahead.
Signs have been put up in the High Street notifying people of the change.
Mr Roberts hopes the experiment will lead to the whole town centre area being pedestrianised.
It is expected there will be a delivery point behind Snappy Snaps.
