A drug dealer has been jailed for more than four years after being caught supplying class A heroin.
Zahid Shah, 39, of Eastern Street, Aylesbury, was sentenced to four years and seven months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court last Friday, said police today (Thursday).
Following the sentencing, investigating officer Det Insp Simon Steel said: “We will relentlessly pursue all drug dealers within Aylesbury Vale and secure longer term prison sentences. It also sends out a strong deterrent message to those who offend that they will be dealt with robustly.
“Supply of drugs is a criminal offence and one that we take seriously. We will continue to take action against those that offend and utilise all the powers available to us in order to seize money and property that we believe are connected to drugs related offending.
Shah’s sentence relates to a warrant executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 on February 12 in Selwyn Court, Bedgrove, Aylesbury. Shah was arrested and charged on Wednesday, February 12.
Det Insp Steel highlighted the importance of the public in catching drug dealers, saying: “We rely on intelligence from residents to tackle drug supply in our communities and I would urge our local residents to report any suspicious activity to us via 101, in order to help us tackle drugs related offending and continue to keep crime down in Aylesbury Vale.”
