He's only 16 but this teenage brainbox from Aylesbury has only one goal in mind

Now Adam Woodage is releasing a book full of interviews with sporting greats.

The Aylesbury Grammar School pupil, who has just done his GCSEs, already has two sell-out books under his belt and was recently chosen as a ‘teenpreneur’ by The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

His most recent work, The Anatomy of a Goalkeeper, is 170 pages long and contains a compilation of interviews with professional goalkeepers.

Famous names include talent manager Nick Levett, Bristol City player Richard O’Donnell and Melissa Barbieri, who was the Australian women’s captain and goalkeeper.

He also spoke to former Watford ‘keeper Richard Lee, who is an alumni of Aylesbury Grammar. Adam had to juggle his GCSE studies while travelling around conducting interviews.

His idol is the handball goalie Bobby White, who competed for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics in London, because of “all the stuff he’s done for handball, that’s why I hold him in very high regard.”

But he waited until all his exams were over to dedicate himself fully to writing, since when the project took over his life.

He described it as a “full time job”, quoting Facebook founder Marc Zuckerberg: “If you count the time I’m in the office, it’s probably no more than 50 to 60 hours a week. But if you count all the time I’m focused on our mission, that’s basically my whole life.”

The idea came to him in January, when a friend suggested he wrote his next book on goalkeeping.

Adam asked himself what he knew about football in comparison with professionals, giving him the idea to interview them.

His not-for-profit organisation will use any extra money to set up an academy to teach aspiring goalies the skills they need to succeed in the sport.

His other two books sold out their first print run, one on the economics of Fifa 15 and the other a novelty title on 135 things to write lists about.

First of all Adam will print 500 copies, but he expects to sell more than 1,000 in the UK, with the possibility of expansion across international borders.

As a side project he also helps younger friends with any problems they face in their own business ventures.

He said: “I think the buzz comes from starting a project, it comes from setting something up and actually doing it.

“That’s what makes me tick.”

The book will launch on August 1.
