Strong winds of up to 55mph tore through Bucks over the weekend, blowing down more than 130 trees, scores of fences, lifting up a marquee and wedging a trampoline between a home and a shed.

On Friday night a marquee at The Broad Leys pub in Wendover Road, Aylesbury was blown into a precarious position and on Saturday evening fire crews were called out after a trampoline became wedged between a shed and a house and was in danger of blowing onto the Churchway road in Haddenham.

Trees were also a hazard to road users from early Saturday morning with falls across Ellen Road and Farnley Road in Aylesbury, in Aylesbury Road, Bierton as well as in Longwick, Great Missenden and Terrick.

Waddesdon Manor and Wendover Woods were shut on Saturday due to the high winds while floodwater closed Lower Road in Stoke Mandeville.

Meanwhile, a fire crew had to put out a tree fire in Mursley Road, Stewkley, after it struck a power cable on Friday night.

Showers are expected all week with stronger winds returning on Thursday and Friday.
