Students at The Grange were thrilled this morning after 54% achieved five GCSEs at grade A* to C including English and mathematics.

Staff were pleased with the results – a 1% rise compared to last year – and the school in Wendover Way, Aylesbury, bucked the national trend with boys achieving just as well as the girls.

Individual achievements include James Lorriman who opened his envelope to find he had achieved 10 A* grades, and Hollie Rawlings gained three A*s, five As and two Bs.

James, Hollie and others plan to go on to study A levels with a view to enrolling at university.

Proud headteacher Vince Murray said: “The vast majority of this year’s cohort are staying in learning or training at college, school or apprenticeships while the remainder enter the world of work.

“We hope that our ‘we can’ ethos will remain with them as they take their next steps.”
