An Aylesbury street has been tidied after people decided to do something about the growing litter problem.
Drinks cans and other litter had been gathering in Whitehead Way, Aylesbury.
Judith Hart and a friend helped organise the clean- up, getting notices printed so people knew when to arrive, and around a dozen people came to get the job done.
Ms Hart said: “People round here got a bit fed up with the litter.
“It was not a huge problem but it was enough to annoy people.
“I want to say thank you very much to all the people that came along and helped.”
As part of the Bucks Herald’s grot spots campaign, people have been encouraged to get out and do their bit for the community, rather than relying on someone else and the Whitehead Way tidy-up embodied this spirit.
Ms Hart said: “It was a community project.
“It was the people that did it, I just got people together.
“We even had two girls who made cakes so we could all have cake and coffee.
“It’s good to see people doing something like this.”
