Farmer’s lucky escape after falling 20ft into grain bin

Five fire engines, paramedics and an air ambulance were rushed out to a farmer who had fallen 20ft into a grain bin, Bucks Fire and Rescue have said.

Fortunately David Wright, who had been cleaning the grain store, suffered just a cracked cheekbone and a black eye after the freak accident at Glebe Farm in Quainton Road, Waddesdon.

He was given oxygen at the scene and then taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by road.

Four fire crews from Aylesbury and one from High Wycombe attended the accident.

The fire service also sent a turntable ladder, ladders and search and rescue equipment.
