An environmentalist is triumphant after he confirmed he has secured a paid-for venue for his Save the River Thame seminar next month.
Parish councillor Doug Kennedy, who lives in Cuddington, said: “The good news is our county councillors have come up trumps and got us a suitable venue that Aylesbury Vale District Council will pay for.”
The seminar will be held at The Railway Club in California, Aylesbury, on the morning of Tuesday, July 8, but exact timings are still yet to be confirmed.
Doug, who has been interviewed by a regional news programme about his campaign, said: “The venue is quite tucked away but it’s near the station and the parking is good so it should work quite well.”
Doug hopes to gather all the organisations relating to the River Thame’s biodiversity together in one room and work out a plan to help increase the water quality.
The ultimate is the introduction of a funded volunteer programme enabling locals to get involved with caring for the river.
Those attending includeThames Water, the Environment Agency and biodiversity officers.
Currently the event is invite only, but if you think you could help and would like to join in, call Doug on 01844 290602.
