Tesco shoppers in Aylesbury are being encouraged to clear out their clutter and bag up their bric a brac ready for a week-long donation drive to help stock Cancer Research UK’s shops.
From today to Friday people can take quality clothes, books or accessories they no longer need along to the Tesco Broadfields store and help raise vital funds for life-saving research.
Helen Johnstone, Cancer Research UK spokeswoman for Bucks said: “Many of us have items tucked away in cupboards and drawers that we have been meaning to donate but haven’t yet found the time.
“Now customers can drop off their bags when they come in to shop. By linking up with Tesco stores in this way we hope to make donating as easy and convenient as possible for people.
“It would be wonderful if everyone who popped in to a participating Tesco store next week could bring a bag of things they no longer need. All donations will be gratefully received; even a book, scarf or an old handbag filled with accessories will help us stock our shop shelves.
She added: “Every bag received could be worth as much as £25 to Cancer Research UK and even more with Gift Aid.”
Cancer Research UK donation bags and Gift Aid forms are being handed out in the store this week.
By returning a completed form with their bag of items, shoppers can boost the value of their donation by an additional 25%.
